Biographical Text
Emil Johannes Wilhelm Raddatz emigrated to Missouri with his family in 1868 and worked as a clerk in St. Louis. He then went west to mine in Colorado and New Mexico. In 1885, Raddatz moved to Utah and took over management of several prominent silver mines until 1892. He later became president of the Titanic Standard Mining Company and continued to be involved in various mining interests throughout his life. Raddatz continually looked out for the welfare of miners and their families. Following his time as a representative, Raddatz was elected the first mayor of Stockton and worked to improve the city.
