    This gavel was gifted to Representative Albion B. Emery (Summit County) by his colleagues when he was the Speaker of Utah's 31st and last Territorial Legislative Assembly. Emery played a key role in achieving statehood, creating alliances among representatives across religious and political boundaries before his death in 1894."
